Steps to Obtain Your Anthropic (Claude) API Key

1. Create or log into your Anthropic (Claude) account

Visit console.anthropic.com and sign up or log in

What is Anthropic (Claude)?

Anthropic is the company that develops Claude — their family of large language models (like Claude 3, Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku).

This is the main platform for accessing their services. Here you can:

• Read guides and documentation
• Create and manage your API keys
• View your usage and billing details
• Test different models (Chat with them directly)
• Find helpful resources and best practices

Important note:

You don’t need to be a developer to use it! Anyone can create an API key and pay only for what you use — whether it's for a small project or a large application.

2. Get Anthropic API Key:

• On the main dashboard page, click “Get API Key” button.

• Once you select “Get API Key”, a billing popup will be displayed. You'll need to add your billing details to enable API usage. Anthropic recommends starting with $5 in credit.

• On the left-hand side menu, locate and click on the “API keys” option. This will open the API keys management section where you can view, create, and manage your API keys.

• On the API keys page, click on the “+ Create key” button. Name your key for future reference, then click “Add”

• Copy the generated secret key and keep it secure, as you cannot retrieve it later for security reasons. But don't worry; you can always create a new one in case you lose it.

3. Copy your API key to GPT Breeze Extension

Install the GPT extension if you haven't done so already. Install GPT Breeze now, it's free →

After install successfully, open Extensions Option:

• Click on the extensions icon located at the top right corner of the Chrome browser near the puzzle icon
• From the dropdown menu, click on “Setting” This will open the GPT Breeze extension settings.
